Get Emergency Hardship Funding
For unique, pressing needs that don't fit into a category. We offer a case-by-case safety net for single-parent families in crisis.
Life Doesn't Always Fit in a Box
Sometimes the crisis isn't a utility bill or a flat tire. It's a sudden medical copay, a uniform needed for a new job, or emergency travel for a family tragedy.
We understand that stability is fragile. One unexpected expense can tip the scales for a single-income household. We created the Hardship Fund to be the flexible, compassionate answer when you have nowhere else to turn.
"The Tolú Foundation was born from lived experience. We know that 'life happens' in unpredictable ways. Our Hardship Fund is designed to catch you when it does."

Flexible Support for Unique Crises
We provide emergency hardship grants for single parents in the Portland metro area. This fund is discretionary and reviewed on a case-by-case basis to solve specific, urgent problems.
Examples of Hardship Aid:
- Medical Needs: Prescription costs or urgent care copays.
- Employment Barriers: Work boots, uniforms, or licensing fees to start a new job.
- Family Safety: Emergency locks, essential baby gear, or crisis travel costs.
Note: While we cannot cover ongoing expenses like rent, this fund is designed to be a one-time bridge over an unexpected gap.
